DOJ Deepens Probe Into Asbestos Consulting Firm

Law360, New York (October 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amid widespread criticism, the U.S. Department of Justice has voiced its intention to expand a year-long investigation into the suspicious billing practices of L. Tersigni Consulting PC in numerous asbestos-related bankruptcies.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Trustee's Office, an offshoot of the DOJ, indicated in newly-filed court papers that it would look deeper into claims that the consulting firm overcharged clients in a host of Chapter 11 cases, the Associated Press reported.
