Allianz Battles Travelers Over $1.9M Stage Collapse Coverage

Law360, New York (August 20, 2012, 12:19 PM EDT) -- An Allianz SE subsidiary lodged a suit in Tennessee federal court Thursday against Travelers Indemnity Co. and an affiliate, claiming Travelers should be responsible for covering $1.9 million worth of damaged equipment from a stage collapse at a Sugarland concert.

Although Allianz provided insurance for the band during its 2011 tour, which included an August stop at the Indiana State Fairgrounds where the equipment was destroyed, Travelers policies for direct physical loss or damage covered the production company that provided the equipment, the complaint alleges....
