DHX Media Gets Kids' TV Co. In $112M Deal

Law360, New York (August 20, 2012, 6:55 PM EDT) -- DHX Media Ltd. will become Canada’s largest children’s entertainment company, picking up the rights to hit children’s shows “Arthur” and “Care Bears” with its acquisition of Cookie Jar Entertainment on Monday in a deal worth CA$111 million (US$112 million).

The cash, stock and debt deal dramatically expands Halifax, Nova Scotia-based DHX Media’s portfolio, adding more than 6,000 half-hour episodes — including some of the world's most recognizable series, such as “Strawberry Shortcake,” “Inspector Gadget” and “Caillou” — to the company’s current library of children’s programming....
