Church & Dwight Swallows Gummy Vitamin Maker For $650M

Law360, New York (August 20, 2012, 10:04 PM EDT) -- Church & Dwight Co. Inc., the Princeton, N.J.-based company responsible for household products ranging from Arm & Hammer baking soda to Trojan condoms, has added leading gummy vitamin maker Avid Health Inc. to its portfolio for $650 million, the buyer announced Monday.

The cash deal gives Church & Dwight control of privately held Avid's Vitafusion and L'il Critters chewy vitamin lines — the top-selling adult and children's gummy vitamin brands, respectively — as well as its Vancouver, Wash., manufacturing facilities, according to the manufacturer.
