Law360, New York (August 22, 2012, 5:09 PM EDT) -- A onetime mayor of Dover Township, N.J., pled not guilty in federal court Wednesday to charges he accepted nearly $300,000 in bribes from an insurance broker doing business with his Ocean County town.

Carmine C. Inteso Jr., 46, the former mayor of Dover — now known as Toms River Township — was arrested last month on a six-count indictment charging him with federal personal income tax evasion and three counts of failing to file federal personal income tax returns for calendar years 2006 through 2008....
