MetLife Accused Of Sending Unsolicited Junk Faxes

Law360, New York (August 22, 2012, 1:33 PM EDT) -- Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. was hit with a putative class action in South Carolina federal court Tuesday accusing the insurance giant of sending unsolicited fax advertisements to numerous recipients, in violation of the Junk Fax Prevention Act.

Water treatment company Environmental Progress Inc. lodged the suit against MetLife, alleging the insurer has been illegally faxing messages to unwilling businesses and other entities.
