Shire's Lawsuit Against Nostrum Moves Forward After Judge Denies Motion

Law360 (July 18, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in New Jersey has denied Nostrum Pharmaceuticals’ motion for summary judgment in Shire Pharmaceuticals Group’s patent infringement lawsuit over Nostrum’s plans to make a generic version of the epilepsy treatment Carbatrol.

Judge Mary Little Cooper’s ruling means that the lawsuit between Shire and Nostrum will continue to move toward trial. No trial date has been set by the court at this time, Shire said.
