Chemtura Says Patent Licensee Breached Pesticide Deal

Law360, New York (August 23, 2012, 2:21 PM EDT) -- Chemtura Corp. launched a breach of contract lawsuit against an Israel-based chemical supplier in New York state court Wednesday, alleging the company wrongfully reneged on a North American distribution agreement for a pesticide containing Chemtura patents. 

Chemtura claims Makhteshim Chemical Works Ltd. and its North American division wrongfully backed out on a distribution deal establishing Chemtura as the sole North American distributor of MCW's insecticide Novaluron, which it had helped develop as per-patent licensing agreement.
