CEQA Reform Will Have To Wait For Next Year, Lawmaker Says

Law360, San Diego (August 23, 2012, 8:35 PM EDT) -- California’s senate leader said Thursday a last-minute proposal seeking to curb lawsuits brought under the California Environmental Quality Act would not be considered this legislative session, but lawmakers plan to introduce legislation next year to reform the key state environmental statute.

Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, announced that comprehensive CEQA reform would not be taken up in the last days of the legislative session, which comes to an end on Aug. 31.
