Live Nation Denied Early Win In Promoter's Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (August 23, 2012, 10:33 PM EDT) -- A Maryland federal judge on Thursday refused to toss a concert promoter’s antitrust suit alleging Live Nation Entertainment Inc. had unlawfully amassed monopoly power and restrained competition through illegal tying arrangements with artists, saying additional discovery was needed.

U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz denied Live Nation’s motion for summary judgment without prejudice, saying the company would have an opportunity to renew its argument after the completion of expert discovery in the case brought by concert promoter It's My Party Inc., and It’s My Amphitheatre Inc.,...
