Worldcom Wins Judgment On Most Parus Claims

Law360, New York (October 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal bankruptcy court on Thursday granted most of MCI WorldCom Communications Inc.'s motion for summary judgment in a claims case between a WorldCom acquisition and a telecommunications services provider.

The claim was between Intermedia Communications Inc., which merged with Worldcom in 2000, and EffectNet LLC, now called Parus Holdings Inc.

Intermedia, which provided integrated data and voice telecom, Internet access, and local and long-distance phone services to approximately 90,000 small and medium-sized businesses, entered into a Unified Communications agreement in November 2000 under which EffectNet...
