Defective BP Gas Damaged Vehicles, Motorists Say

Law360, New York (August 27, 2012, 6:48 PM EDT) -- Two motorists filed proposed class actions in Indiana against BP on Friday alleging the company distributed defective gasoline to about 200 stations in the Midwest that may have affected more than 100,000 consumers.

In the two class actions, Indiana residents Natalie Custy and Mark Gonzales say their vehicles were damaged by the tainted gas. Both of the suits include claims for product liability, while Gonzales also alleges BP breached its express warranty that its gas is “[q]uality fuel that can help protect your engine.”
