Hoffman-La Roche Told To Pay $7M To Accutane User

Law360, New York (October 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hoffmann-La Roche was found liable Thursday for the pain and suffering of a man who allegedly had to have his colon removed after he developed inflammatory bowel disease from taking the acne medication Accutane.

In a state product liability action in Escambia County, Fla., a jury awarded plaintiff Adam Mason $7,028,294 for a combination of pain and suffering and lost wages, his lawyer said Friday. Roche said that it plans to appeal the verdict.
