Calif. Lawmakers Exempt Bikeways From Enviro Requirements

Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 7:06 PM EDT) -- The California Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a bill that would exempt several hundred miles of bicycle lanes from environmental requirements in order to speed up implementation of a Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority for bikeways in the city.

With a 73-0 vote passing the measure following a 36-1 result in the Senate earlier last week, the assembly sent A.B. 2245 to Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown's desk for final approval.
