Retirees Sue Chrysler To Preserve Health Care Benefits

Law360 (October 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Several retired employees of Chrysler LLC, along with the union that represents them, filed a class action against the company on Thursday in an effort to prevent cuts to their health benefits, saying that this would violate both federal law and their collective bargaining agreement.

The named plaintiffs, who filed their suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, also include the wife of a deceased former Chrysler employee, who collects health benefits from the company.
