FERC OKs Gas-To-NGL Pipeline Conversion Over Utility Protest

Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 8:43 PM EDT) -- Federal regulators on Monday approved Transwestern Pipeline Co. LLC's plan to convert a 60-mile gas pipeline in New Mexico to a liquids pipeline over the objections of several energy companies who warned the move would choke off capacity.

The Federal Energy Resources Commission was swayed by Transwestern's assurances that any capacity lost by the conversion of the 24-inch pipeline and its ultimate sale to a company affiliate would be minimal.
