Kraft, Others Hit With Asbestos Wrongful Death Suit

By Sindhu Sundar (August 29, 2012, 8:41 PM EDT) -- Kraft Foods North America Inc. and others were hit Wednesday with a lawsuit filed by the widow of a Texas man who allegedly developed lung cancer from asbestos exposure related to his work as a pipe fitter at Kraft's predecessor Nabisco Inc.

In a complaint filed in Texas state court, Hildegard Linehan said her husband, Elmer Linehan, was exposed to asbestos-containing materials that allegedly were negligently supplied to him by Nabisco, without proper warnings to wear respirators or other safety precautions when handling such products.

Elmer Linehan died from lung cancer in July 2011, according to the complaint.
