Ex-Mayer Brown CIO Arrested Over Fraud Scheme

Law360, New York (August 30, 2012, 8:55 PM EDT) -- The former chief information officer of Mayer Brown LLP was arrested Thursday for allegedly bilking the Chicago-based law firm out of at least $850,000 in the past year by approving payments to a vendor for work it did not perform and then taking a cut of those payments.

David Tresch, 51, was charged with one count of mail fraud. He had allegedly continued approving payments to the unnamed Schaumburg, Ill.-based vendor despite being asked to stop the vendor's services in February 2011. The vendor had not...
