FTC Sues Weight-Loss Marketer Over Phony News Websites

Law360, New York (August 30, 2012, 6:43 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Thursday launched a lawsuit in Illinois against an online marketer it says uses fake news websites to trick customers into buying acai berry supplements and colon cleanse weight-loss products.

Coleadium Inc., known as Ads4Dough, is the latest target in an FTC crackdown on websites that appear to be legitimate news operations but are actually paid advertisements by the sellers of weight-loss supplements
