WTO To Review Fairness Of US Duties On Indian Steel

Law360, Los Angeles (August 31, 2012, 1:57 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization’s Dispute Settlement Body has established a panel to consider countervailing measures imposed by the United States on certain hot-rolled carbon steel flat products from India, the international trade group announced Friday.

The WTO’s move at a meeting of the DSB on Friday highlighted the failure of efforts to resolve a U.S.-India dispute over American countervailing duties on certain Indian steel products, which India claims are inconsistent with U.S. treaty obligations.
