Blackstone's $7M Fee Suit May Be Premature, Judge Says

Law360, New York (August 31, 2012, 2:40 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge suggested Friday that Blackstone Advisory Partners LP may have moved too soon to try and collect a $6.8 million fee from InfoGroup Inc.'s former head for allegedly landing an investment by a private equity firm in the e-marketing company.

Judge Eileen Bransten warned Blackstone during a hearing that it may have made its summary judgment prematurely, saying that while Blackstone thought the fee agreement was clear, former InfoGroup CEO Vinod Gupta had pointed to discrepancies and factual issues that warranted more...
