Oxycontin Maker Says Patents Are Enforceable

Law360 (October 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Purdue Pharma LP defended three of its patents on Friday against arguments by rivals KV Pharmaceutical Co. and Mallinckrodt Inc. that they are unenforceable and asked for leave to file further evidence in support of its claims.

Purdue sued KV and Mallinkrodt for patent infringement earlier this year, when both companies filed an Abbreviated New Drug Application to begin manufacturing generic versions of Purdue's popular painkiller Oxycontin.
