Democrats Push Renewables, Natural Gas In Platform

Law360, New York (September 4, 2012, 6:18 PM EDT) -- The Democratic Party approved its 2012 platform Tuesday, vowing to press forward with an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy promoting clean energy incentives, domestic natural gas development and environmental regulations in the face of stiff Republican opposition.

Approved as the Democratic National Convention kicked off in Charlotte, N.C., the platform proposes moving forward with a suite of renewable energy programs and an approach to environmental rulemaking loathed by Republicans, while cautiously supporting the natural gas industry’s expansion.
