Blackstone Closes 1st Energy Fund At $2.5B

Law360, New York (September 5, 2012, 7:33 PM EDT) -- The Blackstone Group LP closed on more than $2.5 billion in investments for its first energy-focused fund, Blackstone Energy Partners, the New York-based private equity giant said Wednesday.

The fund has already committed more than $965 million in six investments and is evaluating a backlog of possible control and control-oriented equity opportunities in the global energy and natural resources industries.
