Ill. AG Demands Pipeline Cos. Clean Up Jet Fuel Spill

Law360, Chicago (September 7, 2012, 4:37 PM EDT) -- The Illinois attorney general on Thursday sued Buckeye Pipeline Co. LP and West Shore Pipeline Co., alleging they are responsible for a recent pipeline spill that leaked roughly 42,000 gallons of jet fuel into soil and a nearby water channel.

Suing at the request of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, state Attorney General Lisa Madigan is seeking a preliminary injunction against the pipeline companies requiring them to remediate all contamination stemming from the Aug. 27 spill in Palos Park, Ill.
