Ex-NJ Deputy AG Accuses Female Supervisor Of Age, Sex Bias

Law360, New York (September 10, 2012, 9:38 PM EDT) -- A former deputy attorney general with the New Jersey Attorney General Office's Department of Law has sued the state for age and sex discrimination and retaliation, claiming he was unfairly targeted by a female supervisor then fired when he complained.

William Volonte's suit, filed in Essex County Superior Court on Aug. 30, says his supervisor in the Professional Board of Prosecution Section favored the younger, female DAGs in the office and demonstrated a “general disregard and lack of support” for male attorneys, particularly the 57-year-old Volonte....
