Judge Clears Lawsuit Over American Express Slogan

Law360 (July 28, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in New York has given the green light to a trial in a trademark dispute over a catchphrase used by American Express in its advertising campaigns.

Judge Lewis A. Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York set the dates for discovery and ordered the parties to be ready for trial by Dec. 15, according to counsel for credit card marketer Stephen G. Goetz.
