Seoul Wins Partial Victory Against Nichia

Law360 (October 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Seoul Semiconductor Inc. won a qualified victory on Tuesday against rival Nichia Corp., when a judge partially granted Seoul Semiconductor's motion fur summary judgment that it had not willfully infringed Nichia's patents on light emitting diode technology.

Judge Maxine Chesney, of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, ruled that Seoul was entitled to summary judgment with respect to three arguments Nichia had made, but not with respect to Nichia's fourth argument.
