Innolux Wants Enhanced Royalties In Mondis IP Case Reversed

Law360, New York (September 12, 2012, 7:46 PM EDT) -- Chimei Innolux Corp. told the Federal Circuit on Monday that a Texas federal judge abused his discretion by ordering it to pay Mondis Technology Ltd. an ongoing royalty rate three times higher than the rate imposed by a jury that found Innolux infringed Mondis' computer monitor patents.

Innolux is appealing a decision by U.S. District Judge J. Rodney Gilstrap, who in April awarded Mondis a 1.5 percent ongoing royalty rate, even though the jury only ordered Innolux to pay a royalty rate of 0.5 percent. The...
