Calif. Gives Go-Ahead To $300M SoCal Power Plant

Law360, New York (September 13, 2012, 5:36 PM EDT) -- The California Energy Commission on Wednesday approved construction of the Pio Pico Energy Center, a proposed $300 million power plant south of San Diego.

In a 4-0 vote, the commission signed off on Apex Power Group LLC's proposal for a 300-megawatt project on a 10-acre site adjacent to the existing Otay Mesa Generating Project. The power plant will include a natural-gas-fired, simple-cycle electrical generating facility, according to the commission.
