UK Royals Win Bid To Block Topless Photos In France

Law360, New York (September 18, 2012, 7:13 PM EDT) -- A French judge on Tuesday ordered the publisher of gossip magazine Closer to hand over all digital copies of topless photos of Prince William's wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, within 24 hours, calling their publication a “brutal display.”

The royal couple sued for an injunction under French privacy law after the images, taken by a member of the paparazzi while they were vacationing in southern France, appeared in the French magazine, which is published by Italy's Mondadori. Closer faces a fine of $13,100 for every day...
