Millennium Labs Wants $5M Coverage For HIPAA Probe

Law360, New York (September 19, 2012, 12:20 PM EDT) -- Millennium Laboratories Inc. on Tuesday sued Allied World Assurance Co. (U.S.) Inc. in California federal court seeking $5 million in coverage for a federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act investigation, saying AWAC had wrongly claimed coverage was limited to $100,000.

According to the San Diego-based medical testing company, AWAC had agreed to pay for Millennium's defense costs related to a U.S. Department of Justice HIPAA subpoena, but had said it was only responsible for a maximum of $100,000 in coverage, despite the policy in question...
