Group Sues FirstEnergy Over Power Plant Emissions

Law360 (October 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania public interest group has filed suit against FirstEnergy Generation Corp., claiming one of the electric company’s power plants is in violation of emission standards under the Clean Air Act.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future accused FirstEnergy’s Bruce Mansfield coal-fired power plant in Shippingport, Penn. of “repeated violations” of emission standards under the Pennsylvania Air Pollution Control Act and the CAA.
