Food Co. Fired Worker For Husband's Union Work, NLRB Says

Law360, Los Angeles (September 21, 2012, 5:26 PM EDT) -- Produce and dairy distributor Coastal Sunbelt Produce Inc. violated labor laws by coercively interrogating an employee and firing her for her husband’s union activities, the National Labor Relations Board ruled Thursday, affirming an administrative law judge’s findings earlier this year.

Thursday’s ruling highlights aggressive anti-union tactics that the Maryland-based food service industry distributor took two years ago in a bid to tamp down union organizing efforts by about 200 drivers.
