Liberty Seeks Dismissal From Murphy Fire Suit

Law360 (October 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. has asked to be dismissed from a proposed personal injury class action over a fire at a Murphy Oil USA Inc. refinery, arguing that the energy company has exhausted its insurance coverage.

Murphy's insurance policy set a $2 million cap of liability on each incident, a sum that Liberty has already paid in defense, the insurance provider said in its motion, lodged on Friday in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Louisiana.
