Lowe's, 2 Others Slapped With Toxic Product Suits

Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 12:53 PM EDT) -- Lowe's Cos. Inc. and two other businesses were hit with separate putative class actions in California state court Friday alleging they manufactured or sold products containing dangerous levels of toxic chemicals without properly warning consumers.

Lowe's, Atlantic Hosiery & Apparel Inc. and Valley Industries Corp. are all violating California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, known as Proposition 65, by failing to notify the public that their products include banned chemicals like lead and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate, or DEHP, according to the nearly identical suits....
