Canadian Websites Leaking Users' Personal Info, Watchdog Says

Law360, New York (September 25, 2012, 3:40 PM EDT) -- Canada's privacy watchdog on Tuesday said some of the country's leading websites are inappropriately leaking registered users' personal information, including names, email addresses and postal codes, to third-party sites including advertising companies.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada discovered the privacy problems in while researching the habits of 25 of the most visited sites in the country, according to a statement from the agency.
