Insurers Fully Covered Vicor In $50M Ericsson Deal: Judge

Law360, New York (September 28, 2012, 5:39 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge ruled Friday that Vigilant Insurance Co. and Federal Insurance Co. have fulfilled their duty to defend Vicor Corp. in a $50 million settlement with Ericsson Wireless Communications Inc. over alleged equipment failures.

The case is on remand from the First Circuit, which overturned a jury verdict in favor of Vicor over a jury instruction error, as well as U.S. District Judge Richard G. Stearns' post-verdict decision not to award the full amount of attorneys' fees requested by Vicor, and discharging Vigilant and...
