Supreme Court Won't Consider AT&T Retirees' ERISA Appeal

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 6:48 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to consider retired workers' claims that AT&T Inc. violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by reducing telephone services offered through a retiree reimbursement plan.

The retirees urged the high court to take the case in a July 16 petition for writ of certiorari, telling the high court that a Fifth Circuit decision on their ERISA case against SBC Communications Inc. — which later became AT&T — would improperly allow courts to reconsider previous interlocutory rulings for any reasons...
