Challenge To Health Care Law's Contraception Mandate Nixed

Law360, New York (October 2, 2012, 3:54 PM EDT) -- A Missouri federal judge threw out a lawsuit Friday brought by a Catholic business owner who said the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act's requirement that employer health plans cover birth control forced him to choose between ruinous fines and violating his religious beliefs. 

U.S. District Judge Carol Jackson dismissed Frank O'Brien Jr. and O'Brien Industrial Holdings LLC's lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Labor and others.
