Berenson & Co. Fights Back In Fee Tussle

Law360 (October 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The financial advisors to Portrait Corp. of America Inc. in its Chapter 11 case argued that they are entitled to full payment of $2.8 million in fees, regardless of objections from the company's liquidation trust.

In a motion filed Monday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, attorneys for Berenson & Co. LLC said the company's liquidating trust's recent objection to the fees was part of a “belated effort to ignore” the language of the firm's engagement letter.
