Motorola Calls Off ITC Infringement Case Over Apple Devices

Law360, New York (October 2, 2012, 7:46 PM EDT) -- Motorola Mobility LLC on Monday withdrew its case before the U.S. International Trade Commission accusing Apple Inc. of infringing a series of Motorola patents through its iPhone, iPad and laptop computer sales.

The recent Google Inc. acquisition moved the ITC to terminate its claims that Apple infringed a group of its wireless communications patents, just weeks after the ITC said it would probe whether Apple had violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing its electronics devices into the United States.
