XL Foods Faces Suit After Beef Recalled Over E. Coli Risk

Law360, Chicago (October 3, 2012, 4:54 PM EDT) -- A Canadian man who says he was sickened with E. coli after eating a steak processed by XL Foods Inc. launched a putative class action Tuesday against the company, which has recalled a slew of beef products after the bacteria was discovered in its products last month.

Lead plaintiff and Matthew Harrison is accusing XL Foods of negligent quality control, monitoring, processing, storage, distribution and sale of its beef items, and is suing the company in Canada on behalf of all residents of that country who...
