J&G Exec Can't Interview Jurors For Tax Shelter Retrial

Law360, New York (October 3, 2012, 9:21 PM EDT) -- A former Jenkens & Gilchrist PC office head who was convicted in a tax shelter case lost a bid Tuesday to interview jurors from that action, in which he was found guilty but then granted a new trial due to juror misconduct.

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley shot down Jenkens & Gilchrist's ex-Chicago office head Paul Daugerdas' bid, ruling there is no legal authority for Daugerdas' “startling proposal.”

“This court will not countenance invasion of the other trial jurors' privacy,” Judge Pauley said.
