Grid Reliability Watchdogs Get More Funding

Law360, New York (October 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Saying that the organizations have helped increase electricity reliability in the last two years, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has signed off on increased funding for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation and other regional reliability entities.

FERC conditionally accepted the business plan and U.S.-based budget of NERC, a nonprofit formed to promote the reliability and adequacy of bulk power supply in North American electric utility systems, and eight entities that perform reliability duties under NERC on October 18.
