Calpine Shells Out $432M For 800-MW Power Plant In Texas

Law360, New York (October 4, 2012, 11:51 AM EDT) -- Houston-based Calpine Corp., the nation's second-largest power generator, has agreed to buy an 800-megawatt power plant in central Texas from Bosque Power Co. LLC for $432 million, Calpine said Thursday.

The power company will take over ownership of the natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility, which is near the unincorporated community of Laguna Park in Bosque County. The purchase price comes to roughly $540 per kilowatt of power generation, Calpine said.
