Liberty Wants Off Hook In New Four Loko Death Suits

Law360, New York (October 5, 2012, 1:45 PM EDT) -- Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. units on Thursday again sued the maker of caffeinated alcoholic beverage Four Loko, seeking to avoid coverage of five underlying lawsuits linking the drink to automobile deaths, a stabbing, a police shooting and a fatal trolley accident.

Netherlands Insurance Co. and Indiana Insurance Co. say in the Illinois lawsuit  that a liquor liability exclusion in their policies bars Four Loko maker Phusion Projects LLC from seeking insurance coverage for suits in California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida over deaths allegedly...
