EEOC Targets 3 Farm Cos. Over Alleged Sexual Exploitation

Law360, New York (October 5, 2012, 4:27 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Friday that it had filed separate class actions claiming supervisors at three farm operators in the Pacific Northwest sexually harassed and abused farm workers.

The commission lodged suits last week against Roy Farms and National Food Corp. in Oregon and another case against River Point Farms in Washington, claiming that the farms' managers targeted workers who were “particularly vulnerable due to isolated working conditions and lack of familiarity with the protections of the law.”
