EU Is Watching, But Facebook Shouldn't Be Scared Yet

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 8:43 PM EDT) -- The European Commission's antitrust chief said Monday the watchdog was monitoring the social networking sector, but experts say industry giant Facebook Inc. needn't be too concerned until the regulator takes a more concrete step.

In response to a question from a legislator about Facebook's massive social networking presence, Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia described the sector as a "very dynamic" one the EC will probably have to deal with at some point.
