Rising Feed Prices Have Poultry Co. Cooped Up In Ch. 11

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 4:58 PM EDT) -- California’s second-largest poultry producer filed for Chapter 11 in California bankruptcy court on Monday after rising bird-feed costs and an emergency funding agreement from an investor forced the company into restructuring.

Zacky Farms LLC listed between $50 million and $100 million in both assets and liabilities and said that it has already secured a debtor-in-possession financing facility from the Lillian Zacky Family Trust, which was only willing to fund the company in Chapter 11, the company said.
